The Rt Hon Matt Hancock has represented West Suffolk as Member of Parliament since 2010. In that time he has served in several Ministerial roles in the UK Government, in Business, Energy, Digital and Culture, and is best known as the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care from 2018 to 2021. In that role he was responsible for leading the NHS and wider UK health system through the Covid pandemic, and led the vaccine delivery programme. 

 

Before politics Matt worked in data analytics, and as an economist at the Bank of England. In Parliament Matt is responsible for over a dozen pieces of UK legislation, including the legislation underpinning UK data rules and the modern operation of the NHS. In Parliament Matt has campaigned on a wide range of issues, including on early identification of dyslexia in schools, business, and the criminal justice system. In 2023 he founded the Accessible Learning Foundation to promote this cause.
