Business 6: Aeromet International

Business 6 of my Great Business Tour is Aeromet International in Worcester. Aeromet International are a global leader in the casting of magnesium and aluminium for components used in the defence and aerospace industries. They told me how the Regional Growth Fund is helping them create jobs.

Business 8: Colonia of Bailgate

Business 8 of my Great Business Tour is Colonia of Bailgate in Lincoln. I visited with Karl McCartney, the brilliant local advocate for Lincoln- where there have been 2,950 start-ups and unemployment is down by two-fifths.

Business 9: E G L Scott & Son

Business 9 of my Great Business Tour is E G L Scott & Son in Immingham. Scott & Son is a family run motor repair garage based in Immingham near Grimsby. With 40 years’ experience in the motoring industry, it has built a solid reputation in the Immingham area for delivering high quality services. Scott & Son have taken on their first Apprentice in a generation. 

Business 10: Immingham Docks

Business 10 of my Great Business Tour is Immingham Docks in Cleethorpes. The port of Immingham is the UK’s largest by tonnage and handles up to 55 million tonnes a year- a place that is central to the local economy. I visited the port with Martin Vickers, Conservative Candidate for Cleethorpes and our local-born Grimsby candidate Marc Jones. Business is growing.

Business 11: Phillips 66’s Humber Refinery

Business 11 of my Great Business Tour is Phillips 66’s Humber Refinery in Cleethorpes. The Humber Refinery, situated on the North East coast of England is one of the most complex in the UK. It is built across 480 acres and employs over 750 people. I visited with the superb local advocate Martin Vickers and we talked about their future plans.

Business 12: Lightsource Renewable Energy

Business 12 of my Great Business Tour is Lightsource Renewable Energy in London. Lightsource RE is the UK’s leading solar energy supplier and the largest owners and operators of utility scale solar parks in the UK. Thanks to our support for solar energy, Lightsource RE have created 350 jobs and are set to create 100 more.

Business 13: KidZania

Business 13 of my Great Business Tour is KidZania in London. KidZania is one of the world’s fastest growing educational brands, with 16 locations spread across five continents. I attended a site visit with the Chairman Joel Cadbury, which is currently under construction at Westfield London and was told that it will bring 450 new jobs to Shepherds Bush.

Business 14: Warners Unisex Hair Salon

Business 14 of my Great Business Tour is Warners Hair Salon in Ixworth. I visited with the brilliant John Griffiths, Borough Councillor for Ixworth.
