The Haverhill Dementia Action Alliance was formed in April 2017 as part of a collaborative initiative initially implemented by Haverhill Community Care to make our town a more dementia aware and friendly community.
It is a not for profit organisation, looking to recruit members to inspire our community, organisations and businesses to join us in making practical changes.
The Haverhill DAA (with Nathalie Gilder and Isabel Osborne, pictured) seeks to empower people living with dementia and their families and believes that a dementia friendly Haverhill requires greater community awareness and opportunities to live well with dementia. The Haverhill DAA aims bring people living with dementia, their carers, service assets within the community and organisations together to enable people to live well with dementia.
Comment from Matt following his meeting with the Haverhill Dementia Action Alliance team:
“The Haverhill Dementia Action Alliance has plans to make Haverhill a dementia friendly town and to raise awareness about this debilitating disease. Increasingly, more of us know of a friend or a family member who is living with dementia – it is important that these people and their families are supported and get the help and information they need.”
